I love Harry Potter and I love Sirius Black. Like you all know that Sirius is my homeboy but that scene in The Half Blood Prince where Harry runs into Narcissa and Draco at the dress store and they have a heated yet polite conversation? They’re conversing calmly but the undertones are rage and aggression. Subtle threats hidden amongst pretty words. And then Harry comes out and he says “you’ll join your husband in Azkaban soon”. I had to pause when reading that because I was like “oh damn”. He literally threatened to put the Malfoys in Azkaban just like he did with Lucius. But Narcissa Malfoy? She’s a high society pure blooded Slytherin. More so, she was a Black before being a Malfoy. She grew up around the cunning and wit of the Blacks. She learned the phrase “bite my tongue, bide my time” firsthand. Harry verbally smacks down like Gryffindor, all aggression and wild punches. But Slytherins? They’ll study you. They’ll watch you through bored eyes but on the inside, it’s cold calculations. It’s giving just enough but never showing everything you have. Because when a snake goes in, it’s goes for the kill. Slytherins go for the jugular. So when Narcissa gave him a polite grin and replied with “don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll be with Sirius soon enough” I screamed. Do you know how cold that was? She studied him and knew how close with Sirius he was. She knew exactly what to say. Gryffindors commit murder with dramatics. They do loud actions for loud results. But Slytherins? They do quiet actions for loud results. Narcissa Malfoy is the queen of manipulation and cunning. How else do you get in the inner circle of the dark lord without getting the death eater tattoos? How do you lie to the most powerful legilimens to exist and get away with it? Put some respect Narcissa’s name!
